Wordplay in several clues generates answers omitting one or two (non-consecutive) letters; replace each omitted letter in the grid with a dot in the centre of that cell. Rearrange the letters from the grid replaced by dots into an adjective relating to a phrase that describes what solvers need to be to deal with some other clues whose answer lengths do not match the grid space stated in brackets. To finish the puzzle, solve what is described by what emerges; more than one valid solution exists.
For submission, users must fill the rectangular grid, using asterisks to denote the dots, and briefly explain what emerges and how in the box under the grid.
